Templetonia retusa (or Cockys tonuge) is an evergreen medium shrub with large red/orange pea shaped flowers during winter and spring. This Western Australia native plants is ideal for coastal gardens and a feature plant in any native garden or roadside landscape. This plant is widely used in the revegation along new roadsides within Western Australia. Templetonia prefers full sun to part shade in a well drained soil. Waterwise once established. Lightly prune after flowering to maintain plant shape and size. Native to SW WA and the kangaroos tend to avoid it.
