Beaufortia elegans ( myrtle family) is a WA native small shrub that boasts masses of gorgeous purple flowers during the spring and summer months. Beaufortia is a very tolerant evergreen shrub which grows very dense, making it popular to use in landscape. It is drought tolerant, as well as moderate soil salinity and frost. Beaufortia is a favourite for attracting nectar eating birds and insects.
