Banksia spinulosa - Hair Pin (14cm)

An attractive large shrub to small tree. It has a long flowering period with cones of yellow, orange,gold from autumn through to spring. A good food source for nectar loving wildlife. Full sun to light shade and good on a range of soils from light sandy to clay loam. A light tip pruning when young will help form a more dense plant, once established it can be pruned after flowering. Like all banksias, it is phosphorus sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best when it comes to feeding time.
