Melaleuca viridiflora Red is a versatile small tree or tall shrub with dark green leaves, red bottlebrush flowers with white stamens and cream-grey papery bark. An abundance of blooms are displayed during the summer months. The dense, wide foliage of this Australian native plant make it an ideal screening specimen. It is also great for native gardens, shrubberies, parks and landscapes. Prefers an open position in full sun and can tolerade a range of different soil types. Tolerates a wide range of conditions including swampy waterlogged areas. Prune after flowering to maintain a compact habit and healthy new growth.
